About this act
Friends and fellow music teachers Heyn Linger, Martijn Groen and Joost van der Graaf have formed the Jimi Hendrix tribute band BALD AS LOVE since 2004. The three musicians have extensive experience in various genres but share a deep love for Jimi Hendrix's life's work. Bald as Love masterfully and faithfully interprets the complete legacy of this pop history legend. Guitarist/vocalist Heyn Linger grew up with Hendrix's music, whose vision and sound have been part of his playing from the very beginning. Bassist Joost van der Graaf and drummer Martijn Groen have also been inspired by Jimi's rhythm sections from their earliest musical development. Everything they play is steeped in that specific Hendrix vibe and sound — virtuoso, flaming guitar work, at times ecstatic and boundless, then again extremely subtle and fragile, supported by a rock-solid rhythm section. A must for every jazz/blues festival, every tribute festival, every jazz club, every Hendrix fan and every true music lover.
