About this act
FunkSpecial — Kool & The Gang Tribute Europe is a band that wants to show where the influences of today's music can be traced back to. Few people realise that the musical roots of Dance, House and Rap go back to the Disco, Funk and Soul of the 70s and 80s. FunkSpecial therefore pays homage to the disco, funk and soul of the '70s and '80s — the founding sounds of today's wildly varied music styles. The 9 band members of FunkSpecial share their love for Disco, Funk and Soul and decided to join their musical forces in a Kool & The Gang tribute band. Since 2019 they have been performing in concert halls, themed parties and festivals — in August 2023 the band played in France in an arena for 5,000 visitors.
