Billy Joel (76) made a shock return to live performing last Friday. The singer had been sidelined since last May following a diagnosis of Normal Pressure Hydrocephalus (NPH), a rare brain condition affecting balance, vision, and hearing.
The surprise occurred in Wellington, Florida, during a set by the tribute act 'Turnstiles'. Celebrating the town's 30th anniversary, Joel joined the band on stage to the delight of the stunned crowd. He performed high-energy versions of 'We Didn't Start The Fire' and 'Big Shot'.
After a year of physical therapy and recovery, this appearance marks a significant milestone. Joel admitted to the crowd he hadn't planned on performing, but his impromptu set proves he is regaining his strength. It was a dream come true for the tribute musicians sharing the spotlight with the 'Piano Man' himself.
