Matty Healy, frontman of The 1975, surprised everyone by booking the Italian tribute band 'The 9075' for his bachelor party in Malibu. The party took place just before his wedding to Gabbriette Bechtel at Madonna's former estate.
The tribute band was approached in secret two months in advance by Healy's brother and his fiancée. The invitation came with one condition: absolute secrecy. During the private performance for just 25 guests, Healy joined the band on stage to sing hits like 'The Sound' and 'Give Yourself A Try'. The other members of The 1975 were also present, wearing Healy-themed costumes.
After the gig, the tribute musicians were invited to stay for the celebrations. They watched the World Cup with the stars and attended the wedding rehearsal party at the legendary Rainbow Bar & Grill in Hollywood. The band's manager described the week as surreal, proving that high-quality tribute acts are appreciated by everyone, including the original artists they emulate.
