The Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne recently hosted a massive tribute for Australian legend John Farnham. Although Farnham could not attend due to ongoing health issues following his battle with oral cancer, the event saw performances from over 120 musicians and stars.
Céline Dion made a poignant appearance via video link from Paris, performing a powerful version of 'You’re the Voice'. She shared memories of performing the anthem alongside Farnham in the past. Other global stars, including Hugh Jackman and Coldplay’s Chris Martin, contributed performances and messages to celebrate the singer's legacy.
The sold-out concert was also streamed to cinemas across Australia, raising funds for Head and Neck Cancer Australia. It was a moving night that proved that while Farnham’s own voice has been stilled by illness, his songs remain a vital part of music history.
