Queen members Roger Taylor and Brian May are exploring the possibility of a digital avatar show. During a recent interview on Virgin Radio, Taylor mentioned that technology has advanced significantly, citing ABBA Voyage as a prime example of what is possible.
Brian May previously expressed interest in the concept, stating he likes the idea of recreating the original Queen line-up for modern audiences. However, significant hurdles remain. Freddie Mercury passed away in 1991, and bassist John Deacon has been retired since the late 90s. It remains unclear if Deacon would participate in the motion-capture process required for high-end avatars.
With KISS and Elvis Presley also moving into the digital space, Queen could be the next legendary band to embrace this format. For now, the plans remain in the talking stage.
